Ich liebe Innsbruck!!

The beginning of the train ride to Innsbruck was pretty uneventful, I slept. When we got like half an hour away though, we were struck with the beauty that is the Alps. O mein Gott! Es war sehr schön! The scenery was breath taking! It was funny watching the people from MN react to the beauty that is freshly capped mountains. We all want to live there. Innsbruck is like Colorado Springs, only way older and more European.

Innsbruck itself is OK... not nearly as cool as the surrounding scenery, but we didn't get the full impact of the surrounding scenery because of the rain. It was still cool anyways. While there we stayed at this hostel that was built for the 1976 Olympics... you could definetly tell. But it was still a nice place. The next day we went to the golden roof building (aparently its really famous... fun fact: during WWII a wall was built around the roof to protect it from being bombed).

We also ate lunch at this fancy hotel... I had the best snitzel yet! We then were on our own for the next few hours so we wandered to the cathedrals and were amazed at their beauty... Overall a very good day (except for the rain and the chilly temps).

And to top the night off, when we got back to Salzburg there was a fireworks show over the festung! It was AMAZING. Great place to have a fireworks show. The fireworks weren't as amazing as they are in the U.S. but the background was absolutely breathtaking and tops that of Colorado Springs.
